Internship and Practicum Opportunities for Master’s Level Students

 Are you a Master’s level counseling or psychology student looking to gain hands-on experience in grief counseling? At Got Grief STL, we provide a supportive, real-world learning environment where you can refine your skills, receive professional mentorship, and make a meaningful impact by supporting individuals and communities through the grieving process. 

Why Intern with Us?

As a Master’s level intern or practicum student, you’ll gain direct experience working with clients while receiving supervision from experienced, licensed professionals. This unique opportunity will allow you to:

  • Work with Clients: Provide individual grief counseling to clients, helping them navigate loss in a compassionate, professional setting.
  • Facilitate Group Counseling: Assist in leading grief support groups, fostering community healing and peer-led support among students, staff, and other participants.
  • Support Crisis Intervention Efforts: Participate in immediate grief response following a death in school or workplace communities, offering essential emotional support.
  • Receive Professional Supervision and Mentorship: Work directly under licensed counselors who will guide you through the counseling process, providing feedback, support, and supervision to help you grow professionally.

Opportunities for Master’s Level Students:

  • Individual Grief Counseling: Provide direct, one-on-one support to students, staff, and clients experiencing personal loss.
  • Group Facilitation: Learn how to co-facilitate and eventually lead group sessions, helping multiple clients process their grief collectively.
  • School-Based Grief Counseling: Work within schools, providing grief support to students and staff in need, especially following the loss of a student, teacher, or family member.
  • Workplace Grief Support: Assist in workplace grief support initiatives, helping employees and managers navigate grief and emotional wellness in the workplace.
